Birmingham Test: Australia needs 174 runs to win

In the Ashes cricket Test, the fifth and final day of the first test will resume today at Edgbaston, Birmingham. After the end of day 4 yesterday, Australia needs 174 more runs, while England needs seven more wickets to win the first test of five-match series.

Earlier, Australia were 107 for three in their second innings against England on Day 4 while chasing a target of 281 set by the hosts. Usman Khawaja 34 and Scott Boland 13 were at the crease.

For England, Stuart Broad scalped two important wickets with a game-changing spell, sending both Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith into the pavilion, while Ollie Robinson took one wicket and sent David Warner back to pavilion at 36 from 57 deliveries.

Earlier, England was all out for 273 in its second innings. While  Joe root and Harry brook led England with 46 each. For Australia, spinner Nathan lyon and captain Pat Cummins scalped four wickets each.
