Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS) BIPARJOY held attention of the nation towards Gujarat and was being centrally monitored by all concerned and support agencies. The Natural calamity had a direct impact on the shipping, ports and marine centric activities ever since the cyclogenesis in Arabian Sea.

The landfall on 15 Jun 23 impacted normal lives too as coastal denizens had to be evacuated to safer areas. The landfall trajectory passed over Jakhau, Kutch, Mandvi Bhuj & Nalia in the Saurashtra region.

Areal assessment of the cyclone hit areas is being undertaken by Shri Amit Shah Hon’ble Home Minister on his visit to the state. He also visited the farthest west most Indian Coast Guard Station Jakhau on the longest indented state’s coastline of Gujarat (1600 kms) during the review visit.

The Indian Coast Guard in tandem with resource agencies ensured ZERO CASUALTY at sea during the entire evolution. ICG ALH Mk-III remained in ferry for the assessment review at Bhuj, Mandavi and Jakhau.

The Honourable minister along with Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Chief Minister Gujarat is on a two day visit to take stock of its actions taken prior and its effectiveness during the cyclone.
