G20 Tourism Ministerial Meeting to begin in Goa on Monday
The last G20 Tourism Working Group meeting and the Tourism Ministerial Meeting are being held in Goa from Monday to Thursday.
The aim is to strengthen economic growth, preserve cultural heritage, and promote sustainable development of the region. International delegates attending the meetings are arriving in Goa, and they are being accorded a traditional welcome.
Officials from the Ministry of Tourism, including Secretary, V Vidyavathi briefed media about the events lined up.
On the sidelines of the main Tourism Working Group meeting, involving delegates from G20 member countries, Central government Ministries, various State Governments and International Organizations have organized several side events.
The two key deliverables of the Tourism Working Group are GOA Roadmap for tourism as a vehicle for achieving sustainable development goals and G20 Tourism Ministers’ Declaration. The Ministry of Tourism has made positive progress on finalizing these two key deliverables.
