280 members Indian Squad Headed to Berlin for Special Olympics Summer Games
The Indian team comprising 280 members including 198 athletes has left for Berlin, Germany to compete at the Special Olympics Summer Games.
Earlier, the team attended a preparatory coaching camp at Sports Authority of India’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi for the world event which will see participation from over seven thousand athletes from 190 countries.
The Special Olympics Summer Games will be held from 17th to 25th of this month. Indian Athletes will compete for medals in 16 different sports disciplines.
The Union Sports Ministry has sanctioned over seven crore rupees for the Indian contingent to take part in the Special Olympics, which is the highest amount sanctioned for the event to date.
