Hyderabad: NALSAR conducted online webinar on “Demystifying Copyright”

On the occasion of celebrating the enactment of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 and in furtherance of a vision to strive for excellence in teaching, research, advocacy and increasing awareness towards IPR for all under the aegis of SPRIHA, the DPIIT-IPR Chair and N.C. Banerjee Centre for IPR Studies, NALSAR University of Law conducted an online webinar titled “Demystifying Copyright” on June 8, 2023.

The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law where he highlighted the significance of copyright law in the upliftment of culture and creativity in society. Prof. (Dr.) Anindya Sircar, (DPIIT-IPR Chair) conducted a Q&A session with Dr. G.R. Raghavendra(Former Joint Secretary, Former Registrar of Copyrights, Ministry of Law & Justice).

Both the panellists engaged in a vibrant discussion on the relevance of copyright law in India and its evolving trajectories in modern markets marked by technological progress.
