French Open: Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, O.Jabeur, and Beatriz Haddad Maia to play their singles quarterfinal matches

Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek will take on American Coco Gauff, and O.Jabeur will take on Beatriz Haddad Maia at the Philippe Chartier in the women’s singles quarterfinals of the French Open today, while in the men’s singles, A.Zverev will face T. Etcheverry, and H.Rune will take on C. Rudd.

Carlos Alcaraz will play Novak Djokovic in a French Open semi-final on Friday. Swiatek entered the French Open 2023 as the defending champion and started the tournament with a win over Cristina Bucsa.

The 20-year-old Alcaraz becomes the youngest French Open men’s semi-finalist since Djokovic in 2007 after defeating 2021 runner-up Tsitsipas for the fifth time in as many attempts.

Djokovic defeated Russian Karen Khachanov to reach the semi-finals of the 2023 French Open in Paris.  He now has a record of entering the Grand Slam 45 times,  one short of Roger Federer who made it 46 times before. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka and Karolina Muchova are in the French Open semifinals for the first time. Sabalenka overpowered Elina Svitolina to set up a semifinal against  Muchova. The Czech beat 2021 runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia.
