ICG celebrates ‘World Environment Day’ with Mission Lifestyle
Indian Coast Guard headquarters joined the government initiative of Mission LiFE by being a role model and encouraging family members to think green on this environment day. The concept of adopting Lifestyle was to activate cleaning within and beyond their residential premises.
Thereby progressing to work place and its peripheries while they culminate the day’s work. A weekend well lived, is what DIG Sanjay Negi , CO ICGS Delhi says as he joined with all his family members in motivating the residents of Kamath Enclave.
Spreading awareness and following the instincts of the theme was the next stage of celebration. There was a drive to encourage plantation of auspicious 101 saplings each of (ornamental and fruit bearing ) in the reclaimed ecological park on the world environment day.
Additional Director General Rakesh Pal, PTM, TM, Director General (Addl Charge) initiated the formal ceremony by adding two areca palm saplings to the Obstacle Course compound at the Sector 62 premises along with strength of 250 Coast Guard service personnel and their family members who all joined hands in contributing to mother nature.
In addition, a pledge was also administered by Officers and Personnel of Indian Coast Guard, for imbibing by the environment friendly habits.
Clean ship, plantation and a pledge together, fostered the spirits of adopting a well thought of Life style by Indian Coast Guard personnel this year.
