Haryana: Govt gives subsidies upto 75% on solar pumps under PM-KUSUM scheme

The Haryana government is giving subsidies up to 75 percent on solar pumps under the PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the farmers who had applied for One HorsePower to 10 Horse Power electricity-based agricultural tube-wells from the year 2019 to 2021 can take advantage of the PM Kusum Yojana. Appealing to the farmers to take advantage of the scheme, he said, a farmer shall be eligible to apply for only one solar pump. 

The Water User Associations and community/cluster-based irrigation system may be provided with more than one pump as per the scheme guidelines.

He informed that now farmers will not have to depend on electricity for cultivation purposes. He said that by adopting solar energy, farmers will save diesel which will significantly enhance their income. In order to benefit the farmers, the government is also focusing on micro-irrigation.

Haryana Government is motivating farmers to take benefit PM Kusum Scheme. The farmers are also coming ahead and registering themselves to take the benefit of the scheme. Haryana Government is giving 75 percent subsidy on solar pumps under this scheme.

An official spokesman of Haryana Government said that now farmers will not have to depend on electricity for cultivation purposes. He said that by adopting solar pumps not only the diesel of farmers will be saved also by selling solar power to the grid and companies the income will also be enhanced.
