Trees and shrubs in the green area and inner fence of the various stretches of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad campus have been geo-tagged on 30th May 2023, which was initiated by the GITAM School of Architecture.
A database consisting of botanical and common names has been created and populated with detailed descriptions, consisting of classification, distribution, habit, flowering, fruiting, economic importance, and remarks along with photographs.

Architecture Senior Prof. K.Mohan said, they worked for the last three months on the project and successfully completed it by tagging the tree species with QR codes.
DVSSR Varma, Resident Director; Prof. Sunil Kumar, Director, School of Architecture, and Prof. G.S.Kumar, Principal, School of Pharmacy also took part in geo-tagging.
Ph.D. to Abdul Rahman Uzair
The GITAM Deemed-to-be University has awarded Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering to Mohammed Abdul Rahman Uzair for his thesis ‘Power Transformer Failure Analysis’ submitted under the guidance of Prof. N.Seetharamaiah, Associate Director, School of Technology & Research Supervisor, and Prof. B.Basavaraj Co-Research Supervisor.
Prof. D.S.Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM, Hyderabad, DVVSR Varma, Resident Director, and Heads of various engineering & basic science departments and faculty appreciated Abdul Rehman on his achievement.
