Successful knee replacement operation at Singareni Kothagudem Main Hospital: Director N. Balaram congratulations to doctors

As per the desire of the management of Singareni Hospitals to grow as a rival to the corporate hospitals, rare surgical treatments are being started in Kottagudem Main Hospital. Knee replacement surgery, which was previously performed only in Hyderabad referral hospitals, was successfully performed at the main hospital in Kottagudem on 25th of this month.

The operation was performed on Brahmachari fitter’s father Krishnamurthy, who was working as a fitter in Kasipeta mine in Mandamarri area. 74-year-old Krishnamurthy was admitted to the hospital as his knees were completely worn out and he was unable to walk.

After the medical examination, it was found that he had grade 4 wear and tear of his knees and it was felt that the replacement of the knee cap was a must. Orthosurgeons under the leadership of Dr. Reshma, Dr. Suvarna Rekha and Dr. Vikram successfully performed the operation on the 25th.

They were assisted by anesthetists Dr. Nagaraju, Dr. Krishnamurthy, support staff and others. Sri Krishnamurthy was able to walk normally three days after the operation.

.In this context, Director Finance and Pa Shri N. Balaram visited Kottagudem Main Hospital on Sunday and visited Mr. Krishnamurthy who underwent surgery. Mr. Krishnamurthy expressed his gratitude to the company that he was very happy that he had a successful operation at Kothagudem Main Hospital, and that even after the operation, special medical services were provided, he was able to walk, and Singareni’s medical services were excellent.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Venkateswara Rao said that operations of this type cost up to two lakhs in corporate hospitals in Hyderabad, but in the company’s hospital, the operation was completed with just 50 thousand rupees for the implantation cost. Director Finance and Pa N Balaram congratulated Chief Medical Officer Dr B Venkateswara Rao and the Orthosurgeons and staff who successfully conducted the critical operation.

Director Balaram said that there are many cases of knee replacement every year across Singareni, and the bills for this type of surgery in Hyderabad referral hospitals are about two lakhs.

However, as per the order of the company’s CMD Mr. N. Sridhar, not only medical experts have been appointed in Singareni hospitals but also the necessary modern medical equipment has been provided, he said that henceforth such operations are expected to be conducted in the company’s hospital, and the doctors are also coming forward very enthusiastically.
