TSFA signs MoU with ICFRE for study of forest matters and training of personnel

Indian Council of Forest Research and Education (ICFRE) Dehradun and Telangana Forest Academy- Dulapally have decided to work together. These two organizations have entered into an agreement to work together in research and training of personnel on forest related matters. Director General of Forest Research and Education Council A.S. Rawat was the chief guest.

The Institute of Forest Biodiversity (IFB) is functioning under the leadership of Council of Forest Research and Education, Hyderabad. The Forest Biodiversity Institute is studying forest conservation practices, soil and moisture conservation, development of forest tree species, prevention of plant pests and diseases, staff training through modern methods.

PCCF (HoFF) R. M. Dobriyal urged Telangana to focus on climate, tree species and forest development in the context of the agreement between the two organizations. He asked to study more about the pest of neem trees and show solutions.

It is also suggested to develop agro-forestry systems as an alternative source of income for the farmers, to make available good plant varieties keeping in view the increased popularity of sandalwood cultivation and market demand.

PCCF also asked to study the Telangana Ku Hrithaharam results and environmental benifits which the state government is ambitiously implementing.

Director General A.S. Rawat said that efforts will be made to impart skill training to the officers and staff of the forest department based on the modern technology available with the national organization.
