Indian star shuttlers kicked off their campaign at Malaysia Masters
Top Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen kicked off their campaign at the ongoing Malaysia Masters on a winning note at Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
In her women’s singles first-round match, the two-time Olympicmedalist Sindhu won against Line Christophersen of Denmark. Sindhu, seeded sixth, will next play Japan’s Aya Ohori today for a place in the quarterfinal.
In his first-round men’s singles match, Kidambi defeated France’s Toma Junior Popov. He will take on 8th seed Kunlavut Vitidsarn today in the next round. Prannoy defeated 6th seed Taiwanese player Chou Tien Chen, while Lakshya Sen defeated Loh Kean Yew of Singapore.
Prannoy will next play All England Open champion Li Shi Feng of China while Lakshya next faces Hong Kong’s Angus Ng Ka Long today. However, Malvika Bansod, Aakarshi Kashyap and Ashmita Chaliha’s journey ended as they faced defeat in their women’s singles matches.
