NTA postpones CUET 2023 in Manipur to May 29: Considering temporary centres in Srinagar
UGC and National Testing Agency have released an important notice for CUET UG 2023 candidates, especially in the state of Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand.
The common undergraduate entrance exam, CUET 2023 has been deferred to 29th May in Manipur due to law and order situation there. UGC said in a release that the option to seek a change of centre is still available.
Around three thousand 697 candidates had earlier opted to appear in Manipur for the examination. NTA has carefully reviewed the law and order situation in consultation with Manipur administration and contacted these candidates by telephone for asking their preferred city for the examination.
NTA is also considering temporary exam centre in Srinagar to accommodate candidates allotted centres outside Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 44 thousand 425 candidates will be appearing in fifteen Centres created in Jammu and Kashmir.
Some candidates in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand may still have to take CUET outside chosen state due to the extremely large number of applicants. A total of one lakh seventy-eight thousand six hundred thirty candidates have been registered from Jharkhand.
Common University Entrance Test is set to begin across the country on 21st May. CUET is being conducted by NTA in Computer Based Test Mode for about 14 lakh 99 thousand candidates at various Examination Centres located in 295 cities across India.
