Karnataka Cabinet takes in-principle decision to implement 5 promises promised in Congress Manifesto
After assuming charge as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Saturday, Siddaramaiah held the first Cabinet meeting and took in-principle decision to implement five guarantees promised by the Congress party in its manifesto.
Briefing media persons in Bengaluru after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said that Gruha Jyoti Yojana, Griha Lakshmi Yojana, Anna Bhagya Yojana, Yuva Nidhi and free bus travel to the women passengers will be implemented in the state. Gruha Jyoti Yojana assures 200 units of free electricity while Griha Lakshmi Yojana guarantees 2000 rupees monthly allowance to housewives.
Anna Bhagya yojana assures free 10 kgs rice and Yuva Nidhi unemployment allowance yojana assures monthly 3000 rupees to the unemployed youth. Mr. Siddaramaiah informed that 50,000 crore rupees are needed to implement all the guarantees.
The Chief Minister told media persons that the Assembly session will be called from May 22 to 24th so that the new Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly could take oath. He said that senior legislator R V Deshpande will be the pro-tem Speaker to transact business in the House. The new Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will be elected on the first day of the session.
