Amazon Web Services announces plans to invest $12.7 billion in cloud infrastructure in India by 2030
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced plans to invest 12.7 billion dollars in cloud infrastructure in India by 2030.
In a statement, AWS said, the planned investment in data centre infrastructure in India will support an estimated average of 1 lakh 31 thousand 700 full-time equivalent jobs in Indian businesses each year.
The cloud platform offers more than 200 services, including storage, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The proposed investment comes as India steps up efforts to attract more big-ticket investments.
Chief Executive Officer of AWS, Adam Selipsky said, India is an incredibly energised, high growth market.
Earlier this month, Cisco Systems announced that it would begin manufacturing in India to diversify its global supply chain, while Apple Inc supplier Foxconn will invest 500 million dollars to establish operations in Telangana.
