Excitement over new Karnataka CM deepens as Congress leader D K Shivakumar cancels his Delhi tour

The efforts are on to elect the new Chief Minister of Karnataka by the Congress party, as senior leaders Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar have staked their claim to the post. The Party has secured an absolute majority in the Assembly Election held on the 10th of this month and the Government formation process is in progress.

The Karnataka Congress Legislature party meeting held on Sunday in Bengaluru had unanimously authorized the Party President Mallikarjun Kharge to take a decision on its leader.

One of the claimants for the Chief Minister’s post Siddaramaiah has been camping in New Delhi since yesterday. Another Claimant D K Shivakumar cancelled his trip to the National Capital yesterday due to health reasons.

Addressing media persons in Bengaluru, he said that his assurance to the High Command to win Karnataka for Congress were realised under his Party Presidency. Supporters of Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar are demanding the Chief Ministership for their leaders.
