In IPL Cricket, Punjab Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 31 runs at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi yesterday.
Put into bat, Punjab Kings posted 167 for seven in stipulated 20 overs riding on Prabhsimran Singh’s 103 runs . For Delhi, Ishant Sharma took wickets.
Chasing target, Delhi could only score 136 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. David Warner topped score with 54 runs.
Punjab’s Harpreet Brar registered a four-wicket haul. Prabhsimran Singh was adjudged player of the match for hitting his maiden IPL century.
Prabhsimran Singh’s one-man show, in which he scored 103 of the team’s total of 167, helped Punjab set a competitive total, before Harpreet Brar’s 4-30 and Rahul Chahar’s 2-16 choked the life out of Delhi’s run-chase in their home game against Punjab. It resulted in Delhi being the first team to be eliminated in IPL 2023.
