SCCL MoU with OU for mining engineering education management: Deposit of Rs.3 Cr for faculty salaries
Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and MD, SCCL stated that there is a great need for mining engineers in the context of the development of the mining sector in the country, and in this context, Singareni has provided deposits of Rs. 3 crores as part of the ‘Chair Professor’ contract program for the development of the mining department in Osmania University.
In this regard, University Vice-Chancellor Mr. D. Ravinder and Mr. N. Sridhar jointly signed the contract documents of “Chair Professor” in a program held at Osmania University on Wednesday. According to this, the professors working in the Mining Engineering College will be paid through a deposit of three crore rupees provided by Singareni.
In addition to this, two senior Singareni Engineers selected to serve as Professors in the Mining Engineering Department for three years were also handed over by the CMD Mr. N. Sridhar in the same meeting.
On this occasion, Singareni Chairman and MD Mr. N. Sridhar said that Hyderabad has grown to an international level in various fields today, and wished that Osmania University, which has a great history of hundreds of years, would also gain more international fame.

He said that he also studied B.Tech in Osmania University, after which he was selected for Indian Administrative Service and is currently working as the Chairman of Singareni Corporation. Ex-students who have studied in this university and are currently holding various positions are also requested to contribute to the development of Osmania University.
He said that Singareni Collieries Company Limited has been contributing to the development of Osmania University for a long time. For the development of electronics and communication department, construction of classrooms and conference hall, about 2 crores of CSR was recently invested by Singareni. Funds have been provided. It was informed that the organization is contributing to the seminars and festivals organized by the students of various colleges of the university.
Mr. N. Balaram, Director Finance and PA, SCCL who participated as a special guest in the program reminded that Osmania University had given full cooperation to Osmania University for setting up its mining department as ‘Kottagudem School of Mining’ four decades ago. Also Ramagundam-3 Area, Centenary Colony at JNTUH. During the opening of the college, more than 20 crores of CSR funds will be granted and support will be provided for the construction of buildings.
Vice Chancellor Professor D. Ravinder said that he especially thanked Singareni organization for its contribution towards the development of Osmania University. Singareni’s contribution should be an inspiration to many other organizations and former students.
As per the wish of Singareni Company CMD, the buildings of the Electrical and Electronics Department which are being constructed with Singareni funds have been assured to be constructed with international standards.

Adviser Mining Mr. D.N. Prasad, General Manager Coordination Mr. M. Suresh, G.M.H.R.D., who is cooperating with Osmania University on behalf of Singareni organization, participated in this program. Shri B.H. Venkateswara Rao, Administrative Manager Mr. N. Bhaskar and others were presented with mementos. Engineering College Principal Professor Mr. Sriram Venkatesh welcomed the program and Vice Principal Professor Mr. P. Chandrasekhar offered the salute.
