IPL-2023: Mumbai Indians easily defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets in Mumbai.

In IPL Cricket, Mumbai Indians easily defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RCB scored 199 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs.

A brilliant effort by Suryakumar Yadav helped Mumbai Indians to demolish Bangalore. Mr. Yadav hammered 83 off 35 balls as Mumbai completed a stiff 200-run chase in 16.3 overs. 

A career-best performance in the IPL from Suryakumar Yadav floored Royal Challengers Bangalore as Mumbai Indians picked up a huge win to jump to the third spot on Tuesday (May 9). Chasing 200, MI went on a rampage right from the start with Ishan Kishan providing the platform. After his departure, Suryakumar and Nehal Wadhera took charge and added 140 for the third wicket to stun the away side.

Both teams had a very similar start to their innings in the powerplay. RCB were handed a blow in the very first over when Virat Kohli got an edge through to the keeper when he tried to take on Jason Behrendorff and Anuj Rawat mistimed one to depart early as well. However, those two wickets didn’t deter the away side as Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell, in particular, went absolutely berserk. The two batters wanted to ensure they maximize the powerplay and even the introduction of Piyush Chawla didn’t stop the rampage.

Scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore 199/6 in 20 overs (Glenn Maxwell 68, Faf du Plessis 65; Jason Behrendorff 3/36) lost to Mumbai Indians 200/4 in 16.3 overs (Suryakumar Yadav 83, Nehal Wadhera 52*; Vijaykumar Vyshak 2/37) by 6 wickets.
