National Apprenticeship Mela organizes at ITI Kargil in collaboration with NIELET
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Moid Din Wani has said that having skills in the Era of digitalization is the need of the hour and having a skill will help in generating employment. He was addressing the National Apprenticeship Mela organized at ITI Kargil in collaboration with NIELET today in Ladakh.
The ADC mentioned that apprenticeship programmes and industrial trades are instrumental in generating employment for unemployed youth. He instructed the aspirants to take maximum benefit from the mela and fit themselves in a particular trade and gain income while delivering service to mankind.
He urged the participants to have a skill so that they can become a job provider rather than a job seeker. On the occasion, the ADC felicitated Murtaza Ali of ITI, Kargil for achieving a second position at UT Ladakh “Sustainable Campus Challenge”.
Experts from Skill India informed the candidates about the National Apprenticeship Mela, various industrial trades, employment opportunities, and several government schemes. Various departments of the district like District Social Welfare, Handlooms Department, Sheep Husbandry, PHE, JJM, Fisheries, Wildlife, Self Help Groups, National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), JK Bank, HDFC, Bank, and ITI put their stalls during the Mela for awareness to the aspirants.
Pertinent to mention that the National Apprenticeship Mela with the theme “Naya Bharat, Naye Avsar, Nayi Samridhi” is a joint effort of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises which is taking place in more than 700 locations, 30 plus sectors, for more than 500 trades.
