Delegates from different countries across the globe have arrived in Goa for the 3rd Development Working Group meeting of G-20. The meeting is scheduled from the 9th to 11th of May 2023 in Goa. India currently holds the Presidency of the G20. G-20 is an inter-governmental forum of the world’s 20 major developed and developing economies.

The meeting in Goa has begun today with a side event on Women-Led Development. Panel discussions resulted in the opinion that achieving gender equality and women-led development requires the full participation of women in economic, social, cultural, and political decision-making.

In a welcome address Nagaraj Naidu, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs emphasized the need to build generational equality and said, we must unlock women’s full potential through a women-led development approach. The event was organized by the G20 Secretariat in partnership with the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).
