Manipur: Law and order situation improving gradually
In Manipur, the law and order situation is improving gradually and the Army and Paramilitary are putting all efforts to restore normalcy in the State. Meanwhile, Manipur Governor Sushri Anusuiya Uikey has requested the people of Manipur to maintain peace and communal harmony.
In a message given through Akashvani last night, the Governor said that various communities of Manipur have been living together in coexistence for many years. Violence only brings destruction and mistrust among us, added the Governor. Governor Anusuiya Uikey asked all communities to adopt non-violence and coexist to develop society.
So far, the public curfew is in force and no relaxation has been made. Scarcity of essential items has begun hitting the public throughout the State.
Centre taking all necessary steps to restore peace in Manipur: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju
Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju said that the violence erupted in Manipur is unfortunate and the Central government is taking all necessary steps to restore peace in the State.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi on the sideline of an event, Mr. Rijiju said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah is himself monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps in this regard.
He said, such incidents impact the future of the people and harm the youth and women the most. Mr Rijiju who is an MP from Arunachal Pradesh also appealed to the people to support the forces deployed by the Home Ministry and other arrangements made by it to restore peace in Manipur.
