Karnataka addl CS hails TKHH programme: Good results for govt determination and efforts of officials
Karnataka Additional Chief Secretary Jawaid Akhtar on a visit to Telangana
Karnataka State Forests and Environment Department Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Jawaid Akhtar visited Telangana for two days. As part of Telangana Ku Harita Haram (TKHH) program for Telangana, a study was conducted on increasing greenery in urban areas.
He visited Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts and inspected Dulapalli Forest Research Nursery, Kandlakoya Oxygen Urban Forest Park, greenery along the outer ring road, avenue plantation and median plantations along the inner roads in Hyderabad.
Mr. Jawaid Akhtar praised that Haritaharam is a wonderful program for Telangana and all the areas he visited were green. He said that with the determination of the government, the efforts of officials, staff and people, the results are visible.
CM OSD (Haritaharam) Priyanka Varghese herself explained the Haritaharam programs in various areas to the Karnataka official. She said that the Kandlakoya Oxygen Urban Forest Park has been developed very well and it is commendable to establish 109 forest parks in the same manner across the state in terms of environment. Along with the outer ring road, the steps being taken for greening the city are good.
Additional CS Jawaid Akhtar said that the Karnataka government is also making plans to increase greenery in urban areas and as part of that study, they visited Telangana.
After the field visit, Addl CS Jawaid Akhtar met PCCF (HoFF) R.M Dobriyal, PCCF (CAMPA) Lokesh Jaiswal, PCCF (Vigilance) Meru Alusingh at Aranya Bhavan. On this occasion, PCCF explained the activities and results of Haritaharam for Telangana for the last nine years.
Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajigiri DFOs M. Joji, Sudhakar Reddy, Janaki Ram along with other staff members of forest department participated in the visit.
