IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall and hailstorm activity over several parts of India during next 5 days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall and hailstorm activity over northwest India, Central, Eastern and South Peninsular India during the next five days.
A cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining Lakshadweep area at lower tropospheric levels.
The IMD said, hailstorm activity is likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
The weather office said, maximum temperatures are very likely to hover between below normal to near normal during the next five days. It said, no heat wave conditions are likely over any part of the country during this period.
