Singareni Thermal Power Station bags National level best award for in water conservation
The Singareni Thermal Power Station at Jaipur in Manchiryala district has received another prestigious award in the Southern States category at the national level in recognition of its environmental friendly measures.
For the most economical use of water in thermal power stations, Mumbai-based Mission Energy Foundation presented this award to Mr. K. S. N. Prasad, President of the organization, Mr. S. Dalvi Thermal Power Center AGM, Mr. K. S. N. Prasad, in a national conference held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Generally, in thermal power stations of 500 megawatts and above, the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has regulations that can use up to 3 cubic meters of water for one megawatt of power generation.
Meanwhile, due to the special arrangements and measures in Singareni Thermal Power Station, this water consumption is only up to 2.69 cubic meters. Mission Energy Foundation held in New Delhi
In recognition of this distinction, NTPC announced the award as the company that uses the most economical water in thermal power stations above 500 MW in South India. Singareni Thermal Power Center has received the best award for the last two years in the same category.
At Singareni Thermal Power Station, installation of high concentrated slurry disposal system, reuse of water through effluent treatment plant and continuous monitoring of water usage have resulted in efficient water saving.
