Hyderabad: ‘Wealth out of Waste’ workshop held at GITAM
GITAM School of Business, Hyderabad, and School of Science have jointly organized a one-day workshop on ‘Wealth out of Waste’ (WoW) for Micro, Small, and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME) at GITAM, Hyderabad campus on 27th April 2023.
Dr. Srinivas Keshavarapu, Member, Value Enabler & Social Impact Enthusiast opined that WoW can call it a circular economy or Reuse, Recycle, and Recall. If we can impart value to waste if we can bring life to that, it’s not a waste at all, he said.
He told that it should be circular, which means cradle to cradle that will be a raw material for another process or by-product. Dr. Srinivas appealed to the general public that they may try to reduce waste and are advised to convert it into wealth. He said that 99 percent of electronic waste can be reprocessed.
In a panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Dattatri K.Nagesha, Principal, School of Science the speakers Viveck Verma, Author, Value Enabler & Social Impact Enthusiast, and Divya Hegde, Founder, TIP Sessions told the difference between an entrepreneur and a startup.
Entrepreneurship is not just equal to startup and the startup is equal to entrepreneurship, it is a mindset of recognizing a problem solving, Viveck made it clear. ‘Entrepreneurship is something that all us need to do and we need to work on ability for us to identify the problem around us, continuously think of what can be a solution around.
If you develop that mindset you are going to be in a good place irrespective of the fact that you can become a founder or an operative employee’ he ascertained. There is nothing wrong in having a failure as an entrepreneur, if learnt a lesson out of that failure, you learnt a lesson very early in your life and that lesson is a very valuable lesson, Viveck Veram exhorted.
Earlier, Prof. Karunakar.B. Director, Case studies, School of Business delivered the welcome note, and felicitated the guests.
