Dubai Badminton Asia Championship: Top Indian shuttlers to play their pre-quarterfinal matches today

Star Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy will be playing their pre-quarterfinal matches of Dubai Badminton Asia Championship today.

Former world champion PV Sindhu will face World Number 9 Han Yue of China in the Round of 16 of Women’s Singles. Two-time Olympic medallist, Sindhu entered the second round, defeating Chinese Taipei’s Wen Chi Hsu, 21-15, 22-20.

In the Men’s Singles, Kidambi Srikanth will meet World Number 5, Kodai Naraoka of Japan. Srikanth overpowered first-round opponent Adnan Ebrahim 21-13, 21-8. HS Prannoy will take on Indonesia’s Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Prannoy went past Myanmar’s Phone Pyae Naing 21-14, 21-9.

Men’s Doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will lock horns with South Korean combination of Jin Yong and Na Sung Seung. The Indian duo edge past Malaysia’s Tan Kian Meng and Tan Wee Kiong 21-14, 21-17 in the opening round.

Women’s Doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be up against South Korean combination of Jeong Na-eun and Kim Hye-jeong in the last-16.
