Karnataka election officials seize cash worth Rs 82 Cr

The agencies enforcing the Model Code of Conduct in poll-bound Karnataka have seized cash worth over 82 crore five lakh rupees. On Friday, alone cash worth One Crore 81 lakh 83 thousand was seized by the authorities related to election fraud.

The authorities have also seized freebies worth over 19 crore 69 lakh rupees till date. Taking action on illegal transport of liquor and drugs, the authorities seized over four crore 44 lakh rupees worth of liquor and over 45 lakh 25 thousand rupees worth of drugs in the state.

It has seized over 145 kgs gold worth 73 crore 80 lakh rupees and 609 kgs of Silver worth four crore, 28 lakh, 14 thousand rupees. The Flying squads and police authorities have filed 1873 FIRs with regard to the seizures.
