Great Decision of Sanjote villagers to not celebrate Eid as protest against terrorist attack on army truck
In the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the residents of Sanjote village Poonch district are not celebrating Eid today, April 22, in protest against the terror attack on an Army truck that left five army jawans martyred on Thursday.
It was the Village Sanjot where an Army truck was ambushed by Pak-trained Terrorists. The people of the village are shell-shocked over the terror attack. The army vehicle was carrying fruits and other items for an iftar party that was to be held in the Village later that evening.
According to the Sarpanch of Sanjote Village, the Mukhtiyar Khan Rashtriya Rifles unit had sent invitations to several people in the village for the Iftaar party. The truck was carrying materials from the RR headquarters for the people of Sanjote Village.
At about 3 pm on Thursday, when the Army vehicle loaded with items for the Iftaar party crossed Tota Gali and was a few km short of its destination, unidentified terrorists who had already laid an ambush attacked it from multiple sides.
Mukhtiyar Khan said that people of the village today offered Eid Prayers only but no villager will celebrate the festival in protest against the terror attack.
